Nod to Rothko
I have always been fascinated by that sublime zone where the sea meets the sky. Sometimes there is a dividing line of varying and often dramatic colours that separate the two layers. For me there are obvious comparisons between Mark Rothko whose work with subtle colour gradations and nuances create luminosity. The sun is an abstract circle dancing above the horizontal. There are infinite variations on a theme.
